JerkSYD is undoubtedly Australia’s most recognised jerk crew. Styles of urban dance have become increasingly popular both locally and internationally. JerkSYD is at the forefront of a new movement in the world of urban dance and is the strongest representation Australia has for the jerk movement. Not in recent memory has there been a local group who has embodied determination, passion and skill in their area at such a young age and have had it result in such tremendous success.

With one member currently in the process of completing his higher school certificate (2010) and all other members recently fresh out of high school they’ve relied on each other alone to create opportunity. Over the last year in Sydney, JERKSyd performed for over 30,000 people including approximately 21,000 at one time while supporting at a sold out ACER Arena for the 2009 Akon + T-pain concert. The boys then set their eyes on the rest of the Sydney community ,specifically Western Sydney and received such a strong reputation that they’ve supported other international artists such as Ja Rule (U.S) and themrangers (U.S).

Their performances attract many young people to local Under18s events and their presence has become almost necessary for local under 18 promoters. Major under18 event’s such as Sydney VIBES, Summer Break, Scream U18s all continued hype for jerkSYD and a buzz for the events after which every promoter loves to see. Not only have they performed for a substantial amount of people live but their videos online (youtube) alone has reached over 60,000 doubling the amount of people who have seen them live.

JerkSYD consists of many young talents but the three members Manu, Cupid and Kadbury are the rising phenomena which is JerkSYD. The boys get a response that is unprecedented for such a young and low-resourced group. Recently jerkSYD has began to release music building anticipation for the up-coming mixtape “The NEXT City” due for release late 2010.
